CAQUETA

 

 

 

FESTIVAL OF INTERPRETERS AND COMPOSERS OF COLOMBIAN FOLKLORIC MUSIC "THE COLONO DE ORO"

 

 

 

 

 

This is considered the most important event and it counts with a big projection from de whole caqueteña community. It is their musical showcase in front of the country. It allows showing their multiple cultures that was produced for the colonization process by residents from others Colombian regions.

 

El Colombo de oro is celebrated in December; it has generated a space for the artists’ creation in the modality of composition. In the other hand, is a space of projection of interpreters-artists, who have the opportunity to share with high quality interpreters in pedagogical workshops, in which they can improve their knowledge and attitude in front of the regional music. Also, through this event, peasants people have achieved that their music have an important position in the Colombian musical identity. 

 

INDIGENOUS ENCOUNTER


 

It is celebrated in August. Caqueta department has a lot of indigenous communities and the encuentro indígena, is a way in which, the rescue of the traditions and cultures are present, they try to find our reason of being, through the culture looking for the autochthonous traditions and the necessities for the practicum of the recreation and the sport, guided toward the search of peace and peaceful coexistence. 

 


PUTUMAYO

 

 

CARNIVAL OF THE NATIVES


 

It is celebrated in Mocoa, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday previous to holy week.

The men of the tribe go dresses with cusma of black or white color, long pants, and they had a crown of feathers of showy colors on the head. The women, go dresses with a skirt and a blouse done in linen material, it is colored with a pepa called curiguasca. Their necks of men and women, has abundant multicolor necklaces, their faces has points and lines of differents colors, prevailing the red.

The instruments that are used in this carnival are: drums and flutes.

 

 

GUAINIA

FESTIVAL

OF COLONIES AND "ENCOUNTER OF THREE CULTURES”




                                                              

 

It is celebrated on August 16 to 19 every year.

El festival de colonias y “encuentro de tres culturas” was created for the anniversary of foundation and creation of the municipality of Inírida, capital of the guainia’s department .This event allows the integration of diverse colonies that live in Inírida, at the same time, it integrates and relates native cultures, and the product of this relation is the profile of a new half-caste culture, which has been called third culture or new culture.

The event has the following attractions: Gastronomic festival from each one of the cultures, by regions, parades of artistic groups, cultural artistic regional acts, autochthonous sports, fireworks and bullfights. 

 

 

GUAVIARE

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL "YURUPARI DE ORO"


 

  GUARACHA        




It is celebrated in August. The event was created for commemorating the creation of the department on July 5th, but on this date, many other celebrations take place in other cities; and it is difficult to find artists interested in the Yurupari de Oro, is the case of festival internacional del joropo in Villavicencio.

 

The festival arises in the necessity to offer special spaces for the young community in San Jose del Guaviare, in search of new talents, and solidify the regional identity.

The main feauture of El festival internacional Yurupari de Oro is the folklore; it summons and exposes different artistic manifestations of llaneras customs. It puts in challenge the spontaneous verses coming from the fast minds of copleros, under the rhythms of guacharaca, kirpa, among others; it faces female and male voices in the modalities of strong song and passage song; there are couples compete for the joropo in the modalities of traditional or sabanero dance and academy dance. This event provides opportunities for several interpreters of the folklore. Other components are part of this space such as: el deporte del rodeo and in order to guarantee a wide participation of Guaviare’s community in the event, exist an activity called el novel de la voz llanera del guaviare.

 

AMAZONAS

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF AMAZONENSE POPULAR MUSIC FINMUPA “EL PIRARUCU DE ORO”

  


At the end of November, of each year, and for three days, takes place this Festival that was born in 1987, under the direction of Nury Campos de Bastidas, Director of Cultural Extension, in order to allow a bigger musical activity in Leticia. At the beginning the name of this activity was” concurso de ritmos autoctonos del amazonas” since this events had a lot of  success and participation of authors, composers, and interpreters, it was broadened to cover transcendental music of the region.

The name of the festival is pirarucu (arapaima), an enormous Amazon fish, very representative, it has been the muse for many important composers of our popular music.

Inside  the frame of the Finmupa, the following modalities are performed:

Murgas Leticianas: (free category without an age limit) it is carried out in Leticia with interpretation of local or regional songs.

Cantantes aficionados:(free category without an age limit) each participant interprets a free song, different in each one of the performances, in any popular rhythm of the region, (must be live, and no prerecorded music is allowed)

Montaje musical dancistico: (free category, without an age limit) presentation with popular music of the local life and performance of every-day scenes using choreography and scenography.

Concurso de canciones inéditas, modalidad autor e interprete, mejor canción al Amazonas: The songs that are presented in the contest must be representative of the Amazon context, original in music and lyrics, which have not been selected in other contests

The first day, the participants do their first performance (elimination round) of the pre-selected songs in front of a jury, who choose the ten best songs. The next day is the semifinal round; the jury selects the five best songs and interpreters, who go to the final round.

In the final performance are presented the best five compositions and the best five interpreters. At the end of this round are chosen the winners of the first third places in the modality of song or best composition and best interpreter in the modality of the Festival.

The awards are in cash, or a trophy, and an honor mention, but the highest award, "el pirarucu de oro", is given to the first winner in the modality of author of the winning song, and the first winner in the modality of amateur interpreter.

                                    

VAUPES


In Vaupés, indigenous celebrate the majority of nature’s expressions like crops of cultivated and wild fruits , among others, through dance. In this way are important “la danza del yurupari” , “la danza con yarumo y plumajes” , “la danza con maracas”, y “el baile con mavaco”


FISHOFFERING

It is celebrated between March and April, in October and December of each year.

 


FRUITS OFFERING


It is celebrated in January, February, May, June and September, during cultivable fruits and wild seeds bonanza.

 

HANDCRAFTS OFFERING


It is celebrated in December.
