ORINOQUIA
The Orinoquia Region includes the departments of Meta, Arauca, Casanare and Vichada. The region is well known as the Oriental plains (Llanos Orientales in Spanish) as well. Its name is extremely related to its relief, because the vast majority of the Oriental territories are plain. Owing to the relief, the weather in this region is hot and dry. There are also some rivers which go over the region; those rivers are AtabapoRiver, Puerto Carreño River, Arauca River, Meta River, Casanare River, Vichada River, and Guaviare River.
Regarding economic activity, we must mention the importance of the cattle raising in this region. However, the agriculture is important as well. When go to the marker, we can find a huge quantity of rice, cacao, and yuca.
